| Details: | It is the purpose of this conference to take up central topics of the current ethical discourse concerned with biotechnology, agriculture and food and discuss them from different perspectives. The main focus will be on five topics: 1) Overall perspectives, 2) the co-existence of an agriculture using genetically modified seeds or transgenic animals and ecological agriculture as an ethical theme in consumer policies, 3) Functional Food, 4) the use of ?green genetic engineering? in countries with poorly developed or nonexistent industry and 5) the search for appropriate ethical criteria for the evaluation of certain measures concerning food production and a healthy diet. The conference will be held in German and English, translation into English will be available. |
