Details: | This is the first meeting in an ESRC funded seminar series on Neuroscience, Identity and Society, jointly organised between the Institute for the Study of Genetics, Biorisks and Society (IGBiS, University of Nottingham) and the BIOS Centre for the Study of Bioscience, Biomedicine, Biotechnology and Society (BIOS, LSE). Speakers: Professor Jonathan Potter (Psychology, Loughborough): 'Discourse and explanations of social interaction' Professor Charles Stafford (Anthropology, LSE): 'Understanding social cognition and interaction'· Professor Robert Turner (Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience, UCL): 'Cultural learning, socialisation and the brain'. The meeting will be introduced and chaired by Professor Robert Dingwall (Sociology, IGBiS, Nottingham) |
