| Details: | On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee, we would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the 15th Congress of the European Transplant Coordinators Organization. First we would like to express our pleasure at once again joining with ESOT to offer a combined ETCO-ESOT congress. We give a warm welcome to all ESOT members and to the members of our fraternal organizations ABTC, AOPO, EATB, ESICM, ITCS, ITNS and NATCO. Invited lecturers will speak on myocardial dysfunction in donors, the relevance of the mass media in donation and transplantation, and international organizations of organ procurement. We would also like to encourage members and colleagues to participate in the congress and present their work in the oral and poster sessions. We are also offering 4 pre-congress courses, including the first European course on the Quality Assurance Programme of the Donation Process, the 2nd ETCO Non-Heart-Beating Donor course, a Donor Action workshop on their organ donation programme and a Transplant Procurement Management workshop on organ preservation techniques. The 15th ETCO Congress will be the first in the history of ETCO to offer a monographic symposium: On Sunday 30 November, a meeting-point between the ETCO and ESOT congresses, a symposium will be held on a topic of mutual interest: organ preservation. Transplant medicine in the Czech Republic is at a high level of excellence and we are very pleased to be able to host such an important meeting in our country. Moreover, the Czech capital - Prague - is universally recognized as one of the world?s most beautiful cities due to its impressive history and traditions, reflected in fascinating works of art and stunning architecture, which make it unique and inimitable. The Prague Congress Centre is an excellent venue, located in the city centre with a beautiful view of Prague historical centre, and providing high quality facilities that will help make the congress a success. |
